FALL 2023 COVID-19 UPDATES
As we re-open our facilities, the Multicultural Center is committed to providing a safe environment. The following guidelines are being put in place to help ensure your safety and the safety of our staff. We are asking our patrons for their mutual commitment to help us keep the Multicultural Center and our Georgia State University community safe while using our spaces.

The Multicultural Center will re-open once the university resumes regular operations. Please monitor the Georgia State coronavirus website for the most current updates.
Since all campuses are physically closed to students and the public, how do I engage with Multicultural Center programming?
You will able to engage with the Multicultural Center virtually! Our weekly newsletters will be sent out with links for you to access discussion forums. Please email us to join our list-serve and receive the weekly newsletter. We will also be updating our social media platforms daily, allowing students to constantly engage with us throughout the semester! With campus events cancelled due to COVID-19, how can I connect or get involved with the African American Male Initiative (AAMI) for the rest of the semester?
Panther PRIME goes online! For the remainder of the spring semester, Panther PRIME AAMI programs and events will be virtual. We will resume engagement once classes resume online on March 30, 2023. Please continue to check your Georgia State email and the 2022ssr节点 for updates and like and follow us on Instagram at aamigsu for opportunities to get involved and be connected.

Will I be able to engage with “Pop Talks” virtually?
Yes! There will be an invitation to join Pop Talks discussions sent to our list-serve each week. If you are not currently on our list-serve, you may click here to join the Atlanta campus list-serve or 2022ssr to join the Perimeter list-serve.
Will the Community Connections mentoring programs continue?
Yes! All Community Connections mentoring programs will continue throughout the remainder of the semester. We encourage all mentors and mentees to engage with each other remotely (i.e., email, WebEx, text message, or any other virtual outlet). If you have questions about any of the specific mentoring tracks (Panther PRIME, LGBTQIQA, Women of Color, Transfer Student) please 免费ssr节点2022 and the respective professional staff member will be in contact with you!
I am a mentee/mentor in a Community Connections Program. Can I continue to reach out to my mentee/mentor?
Yes. We highly encourage you to continue to build your connection with your mentee/mentor. In your matching letter, you received contact information about your mentee/mentor. Please take this time to meet virtually and get to know one another. During the Fall both mentees and mentors will be invited to different Community Connection events. All updates will be sent out via email and posted on all social media platforms. If you are having trouble accessing your mentee/mentor please email us and include “Community Connections Member” in the subject line. Make sure to also include which program you are in and we will be happy to assist.

All Community Connection applications can be found on the Panther Involvement Network (PIN) We are currently looking for mentees and mentors for the Women of Color and the LGBTQIQA programs, as well as members for Panther P.R.I.M.E AAMI’s Sophomore Success. Can we check out books from the Multicultural Center's library?
Currently the campus is closed to students and the public and we are unable to provide this service at this time.
I am a member of a student organization that was approved and awarded funding from the Multicultural Programing Council this semester. Due to the circumstances, we will no longer be having our event(s). Will the funding roll over into the Fall 2023 or will we have to apply again?
While we understand and are aware of the circumstances, at this moment all student organizations who have been approved and awarded funding for this Spring semester will need to re -apply for the Fall 2023 semester. Fall 2023 funding applications is divided up into two rounds. They will be open on July 20th and close August 20th at midnight. The second will open September 1st through October 1st. For more information please email us with the subject "Multicultural Programming Council.”
How do I request trainings or workshops?
If you would like a Safe Zone or TRANSformation Workshop done for your department or student organization, you may still submit a request. These workshops can be done virtually using WebEx! If you have questions about other workshops or trainings, please email William Britto.
The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center
The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) has officially opened for the academic year! The center is a designated safe space for all gender and sexuality variant students, faculty and staff. Located in a separate wing of the Multicultural Center, the GSRC has technology, a study area and an overall welcoming spirit aimed to build identity awareness and academic success! The GSRC will work closely with many student organizations, departments and faculty to create enriching experiences for all who visit.
The center also features a meditation room that will also serve as a changing space for individuals a part of the trans and non-binary community. To learn more about ways to make gift donations to the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center, please visit our crowd funding page.
